Japanese animated fantasy action-adventure film ‘One Piece Red’ in Lankan cinemas

Japanese animated fantasy action-adventure film ‘One Piece Red’ is now being shown in four cinemas in Sri Lanka.

They are LSC – Liberty by Scope Cinemas, CCC – Colombo City Centre, PVR – Colombo 02 and KCC – Kandy City Centre.

Directed by Gorō Taniguchi and produced by Toei Animation, ‘One Piece Red’ is the 15th feature film of the One Piece film series, based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda.

Uta is a beloved singer, renowned for concealing her own identity when performing. Her voice is described as “otherworldly.” Now, for the first time ever, Uta will reveal herself to the world at a live concert.

When the film debuted in Japan on 23 October it grossed ¥ 17.36 billion making it the highest-grossing film of One Piece, the highest-grossing film of 2022 in Japan, the 6th highest-grossing anime film of all time in Japan, and the 9th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. The film has been number one in box office ranking in Japan for 11 consecutive weeks which only three Japanese films had ever done so. Worldwide, the film had grossed over $ 144.7 million in eight countries making it the 13th highest-grossing Japanese film of all-time.
