French street art adorns Colombo

The cultural program of the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between France and Sri Lanka kicked off on 2 October with a mural painting project with French street artist Sandre. 

For this 75th anniversary celebrations, the French Embassy renews with its tradition of inviting artists to paint walls in the streets of Colombo. This year, the French artist Sandre, with her surreal urban narratives that span across Paris, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Belgium. Sandre created artwork on a large section of wall at the French International School of Colombo (Park Road, Colombo). The production of the painting began on 2 October. The ongoing work in progress will be in free access, in order to make the painting process a painting performance open to all.
