As part of the French Cultural Season 2024 the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, together with the network of Alliances Françaises in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, presents a 3-date music tour with the French singer Charlie Motto.
Young French electro-pop artist Charlie Motto is set to enthral audiences in Sri Lanka with her signature blend of soaring melodies and dreamy, danceable beats.
The singer will lead workshops for the students of Alliances Françaises in Colombo, Matara and Kandy during her tour.
Charlie’s unique sound combines French chanson and modern hyper-pop with a touch of classical influence. Her recent debut EP, Citadelle, released in February 2024, has already garnered praise from fans and critics alike, cementing her as one of the most promising new voices on the international electro-pop scene.
Originally from the south of France, Charlie Motto has gained recognition for her electrifying stage presence and crystalline vocals. A classically trained pianist and singer, she has seamlessly fused her influences from French polyphony, electro-pop, and introspective song-writing into a sound that resonates with fans worldwide. Her music is characterised by deep emotion, cinematic soundscapes, and a modern twist on traditional pop.
Sri Lankan audiences are invited to come and listen and dance to the sunny, quirky pop sounds of Charlie Motto.
She will perform on three days during her stay in Sri Lanka: 29 October at The Warehouse Colombo from 7 p.m. onwards; 1 November at Trax Ahangama from 8:30 p.m. onwards and 3 November at Atelier Kandy from 6 p.m. onwards
The shows are open to all and free entrance. For details, log-in: https://lk.ambafrance.org/
