Dads, VWs and a Cook Off Sunday Brunch at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo

Just like there’s a special bond between every dad and his child, dads also have a unique connection to their cars. Celebrating these generational bonds, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo collaborates with the VW Beetle Owner’s Club this Father’s Day to bring a brunch fit for a king. Dads, VWs, and a Cook-Off will be held on Sunday 18 June from 11 a.m. onwards at the Waterside Marquee, Cinnamon Grand Colombo.

The VW Beetle Owners’ Club was formed by a group of owners and enthusiasts in 1996. At present the membership stands at over 250 and the number continues to grow with membership of both young and old who come together at annual events held by the Club.

The exciting line-up of events will kick start with the Beetle Parade flagged off from the Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo car park at 11am for a drive of pride around the city. The VW Beetle Owner’s Club will also commemorate World VW Day that falls on 22 June every year. More than 50-75 carefully preserved VW classics and more recent classics are expected to join the parade.

A tired and hungry bunch of VW owners and families will descend upon the Waterside Marquee only to be welcomed by a carefully curated selection of food and beverages. What’s more dads who love to cook as much as they love to drive, can team up with a son and daughter and be one of the eight teams in an exciting cook-off competition. Winners of the cook-off will receive exciting prizes courtesy of the VW Beetle Owner’s Club and the Official Radio Partner for the event Legends 96.6.

Dads (or Mums or Kids) who own a Mastercard have the added benefit of an early bird ticket price of Rs. 6,500 nett per head when you pay with your #priceless card until 12 June. Tickets thereafter will be priced at Rs. 7,500 nett per person.
