American biographical war film ‘Devotion’ now showing in Lankan cinemas

American biographical war film ‘Devotion’ is now being shown in 10 cinemas in Sri Lanka.

They are LSC – Liberty by Scope Cinemas, CCC – Colombo City Centre, PVR – Colombo 02,

KCC – Kandy City Centre, Regal Gampaha, Milano Diamond – Kegalle, Majestic – Colombo 4, NIT Ratnapura, Vista Lite – Ja-Ela and Maxx Lite – Moratuwa.

Based on the 2015 book ‘Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice’ by Adam Makos, the movie retells the comradeship between naval officers Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner during the Korean War. It is directed by J.D. Dillard and written by Jake Crane and Jonathan Stewart. The film stars Jonathan Majors as Brown and Glen Powell as Hudner, with Christina Jackson, Joe Jonas, Nick Hargrove, Spencer Neville, Thomas Sadoski, and Daren Kagasoff in supporting roles.

The movie depicts the inspirational true story of Jesse Brown, the first Black aviator in US Navy history, and his enduring friendship with fellow fighter pilot Tom Hudner. Helping to turn the tide in the most brutal battle in the Korean War, their heroic sacrifices ultimately make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen.
