The much looked forward to annual ‘Cannonball run’ by the Galle Face hotel was held early this week commemorating the historical event that took place in 1984. In the said year a 30 pound cannonball had struck the roof of the then Galle Face House (now Galle Face Hotel) when the artillery of the British Army were practising by the Southern ramparts of the Colombo Fort.
