HNB PLC commenced the New Year with the observation of multi-faith reflections giving thanks for the completion of another successful year, and offered prayers and blessings for customers, employees, and stakeholders as the Bank ushered in 2022.

The multi-religious ceremony took place at the Bank's Head Office under the auspices of HNB Chairperson Aruni Goonetilleke and HNB Managing Director/ CEO Jonathan Alles, who were joined by the Bank's leadership team and staff.

Similar observances were held at all HNB customer centers island-wide, in strict adherence to Covid-19 mitigation protocols. The staff observed religious blessings in the Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, and Islamic faiths.

Addressing the entire Hatna family, Alles thanked his team for their contribution and dedication in the past year while wishing all a prosperous and peaceful 2022. Alles also took a moment during his message to remember and pay respects to all those lives lost in 2021.

"I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my staff for their dedication in facing the many challenges brought on by the pandemic. I am sincerely grateful and blessed to be a part of this great Hatna family. I wish each of you a happy and prosperous new year. Stay safe, stay healthy, and keep striving for more in 2022 and beyond" Alles said.

Looking to the future, he noted that the primary focus of the Bank for the year would be to help customers revive their businesses and get back on their feet. HNB will also seek to guide more businesses onto emerging digital platforms, while maintaining a strong focus on facilitating growth across SMEs and Micro businesses, and increasing female labour force, while adding value to supply chains through multilateral partnerships with organizations like USAID.
