Tourism kicks off 2017 with 13% arrivals growth in Jan.

The tourism industry appears to have gotten off to a good start in 2017 with January arrivals topping the 200,000 mark.

According to the latest data, tourist arrivals in January amounted to a record 219,360, up by 13% from 194,280 in the corresponding month of last year.

The Government has targeted 2.5 million tourist arrivals this year, up from 2.05 million in 2016. January 2017 marked the second consecutive month of over 200,000 tourist arrivals.
