Tea output up 3.6% in January

Reuters: Sri Lanka’s January tea production edged up 3.6% from a year ago, data from the State-run Tea Board showed on Monday, helped by improved weather.

Production in 2012 edged down 0.4% from year ago due to adverse weather conditions.

Tea is one of the country’s main foreign currency earners.
