SEC to spread maithree for Vesak

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is expected to announce today a few measures aimed at offering relief for capital market participants with some expecting those to further stimulate the Colombo bourse.

Sources said that at their last meeting SEC Commissioners reviewed existing rules and regulations which could be relaxed given the fact that the market players have improved their discipline. As per speculation easing of credit rules was most likely.

SEC officials declined to comment on market talk.
