Sampath Bank goes for Rs. 2.5 b listed debenture issue

Sampath Bank is going for a listed debenture issue of Rs. 2.5 billion.

It plans to issue 15 million unsecured subordinated redeemable debentures at Rs. 100 each, with an option to issue a further 10 million debentures in the event the initial value is oversubscribed.

The Colombo Stock Exchange has approved in principle Sampath Bank’s application to list the debentures. Its official opening is 4 October 2012 and the public can subscribe to it from 25 September.

Sampath Bank closed yesterday at Rs. 208.60, up Rs. 3.70, with 143,711 shares transacted.
