Police bust Rs. 2,000 fake note racket

The police have busted a racket where fake Rs. 2,000 currency notes have been printed and circulated from Malabe, the Police Media Unit said. The Police Media Unit said that the raid was carried out by the CID and fake notes to the value of Rs. 7 million had been found. The Police said they suspect fake Rs. 2,000 notes have been circulated around the country and urged the public to be cautious. The fake Rs. 2,000 notes carry the number P67799159. The Police urged the public to alert the Police if the Rs. 2,000 notes they use for transactions have that number. (Colombo Gazette)
