Mendis promoted as MD of Hayleys Fibre

Executive Director H. Chrishan Salinda Mendis has been promoted as the Managing Director of Hayleys Firbe Plc with effect from 1 January 2014.

The appointment follows G.M. Prasanna De Silva relinquishing his post as Director/Managing Director of Hayleys Firbe Plc with effect from 31 December 2013. Mendis joined Hayleys in 1983 and was appointed to the Group Management Committee in 2001. He holds a B. Sc. (Hons) Degree from the University of Colombo and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, a Member of the Chartered institute of Marketing, UK and a Chartered Marketer. He was based in the UK since 2010 with the responsibility for the marketing network of the Fibre Sector in UK and Europe. Following the latest appointment the Board of Directors of Hayleys Fibre Plc comprises of A.M. Pandithage (Chairman), H.C.S. Mendis (Managing Director), F.R. Alles, S.A.B. Ekanayake, M.M.M. De Silva, S.C. Ganegoda, T.G. Thoradeniya, J.A.W.M. Jayasekara, B.D.A. Perera and N. Udage.
