Cabinet approval was granted this week to make “several amendments” to the regulations of the Insurance Industry Act including renaming the Sri Lanka Insurance Board the Sri Lanka Insurance Regulatory Commission, Cabinet briefing notes issued by the Department of Information revealed.
A proposal made by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera to gazette the prepared bill and subsequently present it in Parliament for approval was approved by Cabinet. (CD)
