Gamini quits as BOC Chairman?

Speculation was rife that Dr. Gamini Wickramasinghe has resigned from the post of Chairman at the Bank of Ceylon.

Officials at the industry giant said there was no confirmation, whilst others said the resignation letter was dispatched subject to acceptance by President and Finance Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is overseas at present.

After completing a State visit to Kazakhstan, the President headed to the US.
