EPF’s Aitken Spence stake tops 5%

Employees Provident Fund’s (EPF) stake in Aitken Spence and Company Plc topped the 5% mark when it purchased one million shares yesterday for Rs. 145 million.

After the purchase Spence shot up to Rs. 149, up by Rs. 1.40 from its previous close.



With yesterday’s purchase EPF now holds a 5.3% stake in Spence. As at 31 March, the stake was 4.17%.

Another State entity, Sri Lanka Insurance, owns a 10.9% stake collectively via its Life and General Fund.
