CTC goes to Supreme Court

Ceylon Tobacco Company Plc (CTC) has filed a Special Leave to Appeal Application in the Supreme Court on 22 February 2013, seeking to appeal against the Order dated 22 February 2013 made by the Court of Appeal.

The Daily FT learns the matter is to be taken up by the Supreme Court tomorrow.

The Court of Appeal refused to issue an interim order staying the operation of the Tobacco Product (Packaging and Labelling) regulation No.01 dated 8 August 2012 , which regulations are due to come into operation on 1 March 2013.
