CSE approves Bansei Royal Resorts listing via introduction

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has approved in principle an application by Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Ltd., for a listing of 53.7 million shares on the Diri Savi Board. The listing is via an introduction. The company was formerly Coral Rock Hotel Ltd. Bansei Royal Resorts is a 34-room resort in Hikkaduwa and is managed by Amaya Leisure Plc. The resort features a prime beach front with a number of facilities including a swimming pool, bar and restaurant with ocean-facing view. Bansei Securities of Japan owns 39% stake whilst other shareholders include Channa De Silva (51%) and several high networth investors. Under new ownership the Company plans to attract Japanese tourists as well as refurbish the resort. It will also explore options on the 65 perch block the company owns opposite the existing resort. The Board of Directors of the Company comprises Bansei Securities President and CEO T. Murakami, Channa De Silva, M. Nakayama, Viraj Malawana, Hasitha Premaratne and C. Surith J Perera.
