The National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection yesterday demanded more information on Sri Lanka Transport Board buses rented by politicians to transport supporters to May Day rallies.

Filling a Right to Information (RTI) application, National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection President Priyantha Withanage has demanded information on the number of buses rented by political parties and other people for May Day rallies.

Withanage also requested information on the basis of rental charges for buses rented from the SLTB and the income to the board from the hires.

He has also demanded that the SLTB reveal if the individuals who rented the buses had paid the rent due to the board by 2 May 2017.
