Carson consolidating leisure sector

CARSON Cumberbatch Plc is consolidating the Group’s leisure sector under one holding company to better harness the post-war rebound in tourism.

As part of this move, it transferred 685,237 shares of Equity Hotels Ltd., or 99.95% stake in the company to Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon Plc for Rs. 109.6 million. Following the transfer, Pegasus is now the holding company of Equity Hotels Ltd., which was set up in 1970. The other leisure sector venture of Carson is Carsons Airline Services (Private) Limited, which is the General Sales Agents for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Martinair and Air France.
