Cabinet approves 2011 Appropriation Bill

Cabinet has approved the 2011Appropriation Bill, which will be presented to Parliament by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on 22 November.

Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella told the Cabinet briefing that the Bill would be presented by the President in his capacity as Finance Minister.    

The second reading of the budget is scheduled to run from 22-27 November and the Committee Stage will start on 29 November. The duration of the Committee Stage and final voting will be decided at a party leaders’ meeting, Minister Rambukwella said.
