Alex appointed Sathosa Motors Deputy Chairman

Business leader Alex J. Lovell has been named as the Deputy Chairman of Sathosa Motors Plc (SMOT) following his appointment to the Board of Directors last week.

The appointment by Access Group fame Sumal Perera who has a controlling stake in SMOT is interesting as it comes hot on the heels of AMW-fame and now Associated Electricals Chairman Ajita de Zoysa being appointed as Chairman of Sathosa Motors.

Lovell is the Chairman of Union Bank in addition to being a Director at Associated Electricals. He counts over 30 years of experience in finance and investment banking.

He is a Chartered Management Accountants, UK and holds a Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration. He was awarded the Most Distinguished Order of the British Empire (MBE) by the Queen of England for his services to investment banking.

Following Lovell’s appointment, the Board of Directors of Sathosa Motors Plc comprises Ajita de Zoysa (Chairman), Alex Lovell (Deputy Chairman), Sumal Perera (Managing Director), T.D. Gunasekara (Executive Director), N. Hayata, M.M.N. De Silva (Independent / Non-Executive Director), J.C. Joshua (Non-Executive Director), Ranjan Gomez (Non-Executive Director), S.H.S. Mendis (Alternate Director to J.C. Joshua) and S.D. Munasinghe (Alternate Director to R.J.S. Gomez).
