Yevan David named LMD’s ‘Sri Lankan Of The Year’

Pioneering business magazine LMD has announced that its ‘Sri Lankan Of The Year’ (SLOTY) for 2025 is racing prodigy Yevan David.

David is the youngest since LMD’s annual award was presented to the late Lakshman Kadirgamar back in 1994.

“At the ripe young age of 18, when most teenagers are discovering the outlines of their aspirations, David has already carved his name into the international motorsport arena,” said LMD.

“Yevan David’s trajectory is a signal of a new generation stepping confidently into arenas once thought of as being out of reach. It reminds us that national pride is born not merely from medals or trophies but individuals who are brave enough to stretch the limits of what is possible for Sri Lanka.”

LMD’s 31st SLOTY joins the company of many distinguished citizens over the years. This accolade has ranked among the island’s eminent awards since it was launched back in 1995.
