USD exchange buying rate for TTs sinks below Rs. 300 mark

The USD/LKR exchange buying rate for telegraph transfers crossed below the Rs. 300 mark to Rs. 299.21 as against Rs. 302.42 on Wednesday.

The Selling rate was Rs. 312.37 yesterday in comparison to Rs. 316.18 on Wednesday.

According to Wealth Trust Securities the USD/LKR rate on spot contracts depreciated marginally yesterday to close the day at Rs. 306.50/307.25 against its previous day’s closing level of Rs. 305.80/306.20, subsequent to trading at a high of Rs.305 to a low of Rs. 307.

As of the end of last week (12 May) the year to date the Rupee has appreciated against the USD by 15.8%. Up to 4 May, the YTD appreciation was 13.5%.
