The visiting UK's Indo-Pacific Minister Catherine West yesterday launched two UK-funded handbooks on exporting to Great Britain.

The handbooks cover two sectors: textile and apparel (including women’s accessories, footwear and handicrafts) and spices and processed agrifoods. The handbooks explain the relevant legal and regulatory requirements that need to be met for Sri Lankan businesses to export certain products to Great Britain. The International Trade Centre (ITC) has produced these handbooks and will be delivering training to Export Development Board (EDB) staff and related institutions on the handbooks in due course.

The handbooks will be available in three languages: English, Sinhala and Tamil.

The launch was attended by Deputy Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe and Deputy Minister of Women and Child Affairs Dr. Namal Sudarshana.
