New US Ambassador Eric Meyer yesterday emphasised that there is tremendous opportunity for the US and Sri Lanka to achieve more together.
This observation he shared via an ‘X’ post was based on conversations with Government and business leaders, young Sri Lankans, exchange alumni, and American citizens in the first few weeks in Sri Lanka.
“Our trade, our prosperity, and the security of the Indo-Pacific increasingly connect the United States and Sri Lanka. Our cooperation is already delivering results, and I want to build on that momentum by bringing more of the best of America to our partnership —trusted technology, unmatched defense expertise, and the ingenuity of American businesses,” Meyer said.
“The real opportunity lies in connecting more Sri Lankans with American innovation and enterprise. America is ready for a more ambitious partnership,” the US envoy added in his ‘X’ post.
