Sri Lanka welcomes Bulgaria Air special charter flight

A special charter flight from Bulgaria Air arrived in Colombo yesterday morning, marking a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s efforts to attract new tourist markets. 

The flight, which landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with 180 passengers on board, strengthens tourism ties between Sri Lanka and Bulgaria, expanding connectivity with emerging new markets. 

Airport Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd. expressed enthusiasm over Bulgaria Air’s arrival, highlighting the potential for more direct flights and charter services between the two countries. 

The travel group was facilitated by Aitken Spence Travels Ltd., one of the leading destination management companies (DMCs) in the country. 

BIA and tourism officials remain optimistic about increasing travels from emerging markets, reinforcing Sri Lanka’s position as a premier travel destination.
