  • New health guidelines for all overseas arrivals amidst global spike in COVID-19 cases
  • Affirms no exception to the rule for any nationality or country to prevent any discrimination

Despite the adverse impact on business, Sri Lanka Tourism yesterday supported the decision taken by the Government to impose new health guidelines for all overseas arrivals considering the current spike in COVID-19 cases globally.

According to the new guidelines, all overseas arrivals are advised to possess a vaccination card, and those who are not vaccinated should submit a PCR report obtained 72 hours prior to arrival.

“There will be no exception to the rule for any nationality or country, to prevent any discrimination,” a statement issued by Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority noted yesterday.

It added that Sri Lanka Tourism is guided by the Health Ministry and World Health Organisation.

“The relevant institutions in Sri Lanka will keep a close watch on any new COVID-related developments in consultation with the health authorities,” SLTDA said.
