The Third Reading of the Sri Lanka Electricity (Amendment) Bill was passed in Parliament yesterday, with amendments by a majority of 96 votes.
The Second Reading of the Bill was also passed with the same majority earlier yesterday.
During the Second Reading of the Bill, a total of 121 MPs voted in favour, while 25 voted against it.
Subsequently, during the Committee Stage, several amendments were incorporated to the Bill.
However, no vote was taken for the Third Reading.
