Special import levy on dates reduced to Rs. 1

In view of the upcoming Ramadan, the Finance Ministry announced that the special import levy on dates has been reduced to Rs. 1 with effect from yesterday.

“The existing special import levy of Rs. 200 per kilo of dates has been reduced by Rs. 199 to Rs. 1,” Finance Ministry noted issuing a statement yesterday.

It also said the decision has been taken as a relief measure for Muslim community during the Ramadan fasting period.
