Speaker endorses certificate on seven Bills

Speaker of the House Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has endorsed the certificate on seven Bills. The Speaker endorsed the certificate on the Secured Transaction, Registration of Documents (Amendment), Trust Receipts (Amendment), Mortgage (Amendment), Finance Leasing (Amendment), Inland Trust Receipts (Amendment) and Companies (Amendment) on Tuesday.

Accordingly, the seven Bills will come into effect as of 1 April as Secured Transaction Act No. 17 of 2024, the Registration of Documents (Amendment) Act No. 18 of 2024, Trust Receipts (Amendment) Act No. 19 of 2024, the Mortgage (Amendment) Act No. 20 of 2024, the Lease Financing (Amendment) Act No. 21 of 2024, Inland Trust Receipts (Amendment) Act No. 22 of 2024 and Companies (Amendment) Act No. 23 of 2024.
