Softlogic Finance to raise Rs. 1 b via Rights Issue

Softlogic Finance PLC yesterday said its Board of Directors had recommend a Rights Issue of ordinary voting shares to raise Rs. 1 billion and strengthen the company’s Tier 1 capital and expand its lending portfolio, particularly in the vehicle financing segment.

The company said 401,072,162 new shares would be issued at Rs. 2.50 per share. Shareholders will be entitled to five new shares for every 12 ordinary voting shares held, against the existing 962,573,191 shares in issue.

The company’s current stated capital stands at over Rs. 2.3 billion. 

The Rights Issue remains subject to in-principle approval and listing by the Colombo Stock Exchange, as well as shareholder approval at an Extraordinary General Meeting to be convened on a date to be decided.
