The services sector exports have surpassed the pre-crisis level by 2024, according to charts.lk.

Services sector exports include tourism, computer and IT/BPO related services, sea and air transport and smaller categories such as overseas construction, insurance, professional and management consulting and technical, trade related and other business services.

The country anticipates steady growth in service exports alongside the gradual expansion of merchandise exports. Service exports contribute to both foreign exchange inflows and outflows. In recent years, outflows have increased particularly due to the rise in outbound travel by locals, according to www.charts.lk.
