SLAASMB appoints new Director General

The Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board (SLAASMB) has announced the appointment of Shantha Halloluwa as its 5th Director General, effective from 1 September.

A CA Sri Lanka Fellow, Halloluwa brings over two decades of extensive experience in the finance, accounting, and auditing fields, with a strong international background gained across diverse sectors, including multinational corporations, FMCG, banking, and commercial entities.

Prior to joining SLAASMB, he served as the CA Sri Lanka Director of Technical and International Relations.

He also held the position of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Executive Secretary in 2024.

Halloluwa holds a Bachelor of Science Accountancy (Special) Degree and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) Degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

SLAASMB, established under Act No. 15 of 1995, is the sole authority to monitor the financial statements of major entities for compliance with accounting standards and to inspect the work of auditors.
