There are indications that the current Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman may be exploring an opportunity to move on, with a view to taking up the position of Vice Chancellor at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Applications were called for the role, and nine candidates are reportedly in contention. Among them is also former SEC Chairman Professor Lalith Samarakoon.
It is understood that three candidates will be shortlisted and their names forwarded to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for consideration.
