Rs. 10 b PLC debenture issue oversubscribed

People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC) said its Rs. 10 billion debenture issue closed oversubscribed yesterday.

The company offered an initial 50 million listed, rated, subordinated, unsecured, redeemable debentures at a par value of Rs. 100 each, amounting to Rs. 5 billion. It had the option, at its discretion, to issue up to a further 50 million debentures if the initial issue was oversubscribed, taking the maximum raise to Rs. 10 billion.

Having received applications for over Rs. 10 billion, the issue closed at 4:30 p.m. yesterday. The basis of allotment, which determines how the debentures will be distributed among applicants, will be notified to the Colombo Stock Exchange in due course.
