Renuka Weerakone appointed BOI Director General

Renuka Weerakoon has been appointed as the new Director General of the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka.

She has served in the position in an acting capacity for the past four years.

Weerakoon brings over three decades of experience at the BOI, having held several senior roles within the institution during her tenure. Prior to her appointment as the Acting Director General, she served as the Senior Executive Director of the BOI.

However, the position of BOI Chairman still remains vacant, with the Government yet to make an appointment nearly one and a half months after the post fell vacant.
