President meets Japan PM and Emperor

President Wickremesinghe with Japan PM Fumio Kishida

President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday met Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo.

The Japanese Prime Minister warmly welcomed President Wickremesinghe and extended his best wishes on his appointment to the Office of President. 

The duo held discussions on further strengthening relations between the two countries. 

President Ranil Wickremesinghe also called on Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace, his official residence in Tokyo.
