People rescued by Air Force Bell 212 aircraft

People who were stranded in the Mahawa Ella area due to adverse weather conditions have been rescued by an Air Force Bell 212 aircraft.

Three people who were trapped in the upper floor of a two-storey house in the Mahawa Ella area, which was affected by the flood caused by the overflow of the Deduru Oya, were rescued yesterday afternoon by a Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 04 Helicopter Squadron of the Sri Lanka Air Force. They were safely rescued and taken to safe places.

This operation was carried out by the rescue team attached to the Sri Lanka Air Force’s Ratmalana base.
