Party leaders agree to debate Special GST Bill on 10 Feb.

Party leaders yesterday decided to debate the Special GST Bill in Parliament on 10 February.

Along with the Special GST Bill, three other bills, namely the Provincial Councils (Transfer of Stamp Duty) (Amendment) Bill, Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill and Regulations under the Imports and Exports (Control) Act No. 1 of 1969 are also scheduled for debate the same day.

Parliament will meet for four days in the second week of February.

The Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund (Amendment) Bill will be taken up for debate on 8 February while the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines Bill, Judicature (Amendment) Bill and the Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill is set to be taken up for debate on 9 February.

The Vote of Condolence on the late MP Mangala Samaraweera will be held on 11 February.
