The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that it will seek public opinion on the proposed electricity tariff revision for the final quarter of 2025, submitted by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

The CEB has proposed a 6.8% increase in electricity tariffs, prompting the PUCSL to invite citizens to share their comments and suggestions in writing by 7 October 2025.

In addition to written submissions, the Commission will hold nine public consultation sessions across all provinces, allowing members of the public to present their views orally.

Stakeholders and citizens can submit feedback through multiple channels: via email at [email protected], WhatsApp at 076 4271030, through the PUCSL Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pucsl, or by post addressed to Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, 6th Floor, Bank of Ceylon Commercial Tower, Colombo 3.

The consultation paper and the full proposed tariff revision are available for review at: https://www.pucsl.gov.lk/proposed-electricity-tariff-revision-2025-sept/
