PM tells staff to work from home

  • Calls on citizens to join hands to overcome challenges for country’s sake

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday instructed all staff at his office and all ministries under his purview to switch to working from home (WFH) with a view to reduce the usage of fuel and electricity.

“I am grateful to the officials who have performed their duties to the best of their ability, even amidst power disruptions and trouble encountered in getting to offices,” he said, issuing a statement yesterday.

Premier Rajapaksa reiterated that the Government is sensitive to the plight of the people assuring that they have resorted to all possible measures to overcome challenges.

“Despite multiple difficulties, Sri Lanka has a history of overcoming many challenges, including the 30-year long conflict and the pandemic, through the patience, resilience of the people,” he pointed out.

Prime Minister Rajapaksa called on all Sri Lankans to join hands to overcome the prevailing challenges for the sake of the motherland.
