The Government has launched an official donation portal, ‘Stand with Sri Lanka,’ to mobilise financial contributions from the international community, the Sri Lankan diaspora, and local citizens for relief operations following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

The platform, hosted at https://donate.gov.lk, provides verified bank account details issued by the Finance, Planning and Economic Development Ministry.

Authorities said the portal was introduced to ensure a secure and transparent mechanism for directing urgent financial support to families affected by the disaster. Cyclone Ditwah has caused widespread destruction across the country, displacing thousands, destroying homes and limiting access to essential supplies, including food, clean water, and medical care.

The Government confirmed that 100% of all contributions made through the portal will go directly towards coordinated emergency relief efforts.

The funds will be used to supply food for displaced families, provide clean water and sanitation facilities to prevent disease outbreaks, support emergency medical care, and deliver temporary shelter and relief kits for those who have lost their homes.

The new web portal also outlines the approved channels for donations, offering donors clarity and assurance that their contributions are directed to verified accounts and national relief operations.

The initiative aims to streamline global and domestic support at a time when humanitarian needs continue to escalate nationwide.
