New Rothschild Tea Factory sets record Rs. 2,950/kg price

New Rothschild Tea Factory, situated in the Pussellawa planting region and managed by Browns Plantations, yesterday said it achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,950 per kg for its PEK1 grade in the Western Medium elevation category at the weekly tea auction held on 8 and 9 September.

The tea was auctioned by Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC and purchased by Vintage Teas Ceylon Ltd.
