The highest-ever daily COVID-19 cases of 2,672 were recorded yesterday, bringing the cumulative total under the Avurudu Cluster to 20,657.

The latest tally included 13 foreign arrivals who were tested positive for COVID-19.

With yesterday’s addition, the grand total of COVID-19 patients in the country rose to 125,919.

Government Information also announced 15 COVID-related deaths yesterday increasing the death toll to 801. On Saturday, a record 22 persons succumbed to the virus.
