National tea sales average up YoY but dips MoM

The National Tea Sales average in November 2022 declined to Rs. 1,383.05 ($ 3.80) from Rs. 1,483.65 ($ 4.10) in the previous month.

In comparison to the November 2021 average of Rs. 623.18 ($ 3.11), the total average shows a significant increase of Rs. 759.87 YoY, whilst gaining 0.69 in dollar terms as well.

Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers said in dollar terms, the November 2022 average of dollar 3.80 records a decrease of $ 0.30 when compared to the October 2022 average of $ 4.10.

In terms of elevation-wise averages for November 2022 ─ High Grown average of Rs. 1,340.75 ($ 3.68) recorded a decrease of Rs. 111.46 month on month vis-à-vis highest ever High Grown average for a calendar month of Rs. 1,452.21 ($ 4.01) of October 2022.

When compared to November 2021 average of Rs. 611.33 ($ 3.05), a significant increase of Rs. 729.42 is recorded YoY, whilst in dollar terms too records an increase of $ 0.63.

Medium Grown average for the month of November 2022 totalling Rs. 1,177.49 ($ 3.23) recorded a decrease of Rs. 92.02 month on month vis-à-vis Rs. 1,269.51 ($ 3.51) of October 2022. When compared to the November 2021 average of Rs. 556.07 ($ 2.77), shows a significant increase of Rs. 621.42 YoY, whilst in dollar terms records an increase of $ 0.46.

Low Grown average of Rs. 1,448.15 ($ 3.98) in November 2022 records a decline of Rs. 106.71 from Rs. 1,554.86 ($ 4.29) recorded in October 2022. It records a significant increase of Rs. 804.94 YoY, with a gain of 0.77 in dollar terms.

Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers said all elevations record significant gains during the period of January-November 2022 when compared to the corresponding period of 2021, both in rupee and dollar terms.
