Modi says visiting SL to realise shared objectives

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said his visit Sri Lanka is to realise shared objectives.

“We will have the opportunity to review progress made on the joint vision of ‘Fostering Partnerships for a Shared Future’ and provide further guidance to realise our shared objectives,” Modi said in a pre-departure statement.

Modi’s arrival follows the highly successful visit of President Disanayake to India last December.

“I am confident that these visits will build on the foundations of the past and contribute to strengthening our close relationships for the benefit of our people and the wider region,” added Modi who is arriving in Sri Lanka after attending the sixth BIMSTEC Summit in Thailand.
