As a key outcome of President Anura Kumara Disanayake’s official visit to the Maldives, the Maldivian Government has announced a major concession for Sri Lankan travellers—a free 90-day on-arrival tourist visa, boosting bilateral ties and regional travel ease.
This visa facility will take effect from 29 July, and to obtain the visa, travellers must possess a valid passport and proof of sufficient financial means to cover their expenses during their stay in the Maldives.
This initiative is offered under the provisions of the bilateral agreement on visa facilitation between Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and in accordance with Maldivian immigration laws and regulations.
The Maldivian Government stated that this action demonstrates its strong dedication to improving mutual cooperation and reinforces the importance it places on its relationship with Sri Lanka.
