Lake House Technologies has announced its collaboration with global technology leader Thales to launch the nation’s first-ever eco-friendly, biodegradable banking card for Bank of Ceylon (BOC), powered by Mastercard International.
The card, made from non-edible, corn-based polylactic acid (PLA), offers a sustainable alternative to traditional PVC plastic cards that can take centuries to decompose. Fully industrially compostable, the new card is a milestone in Sri Lanka’s journey towards greener financial solutions.
