LAUGFS, Litro cut domestic LP gas prices

LAUGFS Gas PLC and Litro Gas Lanka Ltd., have reduced the prices of domestic LP gas cylinders with effect from last night, providing relief to households amid easing global energy prices.

Both companies announced downward revisions across selected domestic cylinder categories under their latest monthly price adjustments.

LAUGFS Gas announced a sharp reduction in domestic LP gas prices, cutting the price of its 12.5 kg cylinder by Rs. 1,280 with effect from last midnight.

The company said the price of a 12.5 kg cylinder has been reduced to Rs. 4,965, while the price of a 5 kg cylinder has been lowered by Rs. 512 to Rs. 1,988.

Litro Gas Lanka Ltd., has reduced the prices of its domestic LP gas cylinders with effect from last night, citing a decline in international LP gas prices and passing the benefit directly on to consumers.

Under the revised prices, the 12.5 kg cylinder has been reduced by Rs. 300 to Rs. 4,465, the 5 kg cylinder by Rs. 118 to Rs. 1,792, and the 2.3 kg cylinder by Rs. 55 to Rs. 835.

Issuing a statement, Litro Gas said the price revision reflects lower global LP gas prices and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers through efficient management while ensuring that savings from international markets are passed on to customers.

The company also pledged to maintain an uninterrupted countrywide supply of LP gas at fair and affordable prices.
